The BATJC is 100% community supported!  We are inspired by the opportunity to build sustainable and accountable community-supported work!  We believe in the power of our communities to support work that matters to us.  We want our work to be supported by the individuals and communities impacted by CSA and whom we have relationships with.  We believe this is one of the only ways to truly build community-accountability of our work.

The BATJC is not a 501(c)3.  We have purposefully chosen to not become a nonprofit because we do not think it is a sustainable model for our work, nor will it allow us to take the kinds of political risks that TJ will require.  We hope to build a funding structure that can actually support, grow and deepen our work and that is intimately part of our work.

We are determined to keep this work moving forward.  We have big dreams for building community responses to child sexual abuse and some of them will require money.   We begin from a place of abundance, knowing the rich legacy our communities have had when it comes to community-supported work.  We work to do justice to this legacy and, as such, our funding work is also guided by our values.

100% of all funds raised will go directly to support and grow our work.  Because we are not a 501(c)3, we do not have any overhead, which allows us to funnel all the funds we receive directly to our work.  Funds will help with paying for everything from intervention work and costs; to accessible venues; to compensation for facilitators, trainers and groups who share their work and skills with us or payment to support BATJC members to attend trainings/workshops to gain skills; to production of tools and resources; to supplies and general sustainability of the BATJC.  We appreciate donations in all amounts and we know that it is the very act of giving in and of itself that means the most, regardless of the amount.  We encourage you to donate an amount that feels meaningful to you.

We are also open to talking more with you if you have questions or would like to know more about our work!
